This research deals with the issue of the recovery of the historic urban fabric with a view towards ecological transition, nowadays considered the preferable direction of sustainability for the reform of the house–city–landscape system. All these elements outline, through a process of progressive refinement of knowledge, the characteristics of urban reactivation and the useful tools for managing its implications in the project. This first chapter frames the theoretical aspects of research that is halfway between the inductive and deductive method combining theoretical research, the analysis of case studies, as well as carrying out field activities such as interviews and reactivation project initiatives conducted in the real world described in Chap.
